Our name is inspired by the ecological concept of allelopathy – the natural phenomenon in which one organism can benefit or harm other organisms and the community as a whole.
Allelo aspires to nurture a beneficial relationship between producers and consumers. We work to ensure a prosperous future for coffee by creating long-term direct connections with roasters and emphasizing quality, consistency, sustainability, transparency, and traceability.
We firmly believe that the current market landscape needs to be revised to create a more equitable distribution of value across the entire supply chain.
Our Coffee
Our specialty coffees originate from the Campo das Vertentes region in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The region sits between two geographical water basins, providing rich, fertile soil that has historically made it perfect for producing coffee. It boasts altitudes of 1,000m and above, with consistent rainfall and excellent conditions for post-harvest practices.
Campo das Vertentes is an official Indication of Origin. The people who manage such indications say consumers value products from regions higher. You be the judge.
These coffees were grown at around 1000 meters altitude. Academic studies point to increased coffee quality at 1000 meters and above. You be the judge.
These coffees score 86-92 points on the Specialty Coffee Association evaluation scale. You be the judge.
Our coffee is roasted in small quantities, with only 80 bags per batch.
